Thirteen has always been one of my favorite numbers.
Much of this is likely because of the common phobia that 13 brings bad things (Triskaidekaphobia in case anyone’s interested) and it still makes me giggle to see hotels omit the 13th floor from the elevators.
In honor of this wonderful number and 13th Jittery Junebug prompt, numbers are going to be the subject this week:
Pick a number, any number.
Then, create a person who is identified by that number. What does the number represent (prison inmate, hospital patient, sweepstakes/contest participant, etc.)? What is their story? How did they come to be defined by a number and how does it affect their life?
Have some fun with this one. Every character has something significant about them whether good or bad and it’s our job to tell that story. It doesn’t always have to be a happy one either.
Happy writing!
